Love is...
Do you remember this??
I do as a child from the 70's.
I just loved these cute characters.
It reminds me of Valentines day.
The New Zealander Kim Grove Casali, first invented comics in 1970. It was the year of the film “Love Story” premiere, whose slogan was “Love means never having to say you’re sorry”.
At first black and white comics appeared on the editorial page of the Los Angeles Times and won the first popularity, been weekly publishing in the latest issue of the newspaper.
In 1975, Kim has met with a British designer, Bill Asprey, whom she then, in 1978, asked to create a special, color version of the comics for British newspaper “Mail on Sunday” in England .

Oh my goodness, I remember we were wild about these as children. Our exercise books were all decorated with little "love is" cartoons. I had completely forgotten and no idea of the connection with the film.
Thank you so much for this reminder.
