Babies'rooms from Zero to Three by Judith Wilson
I found this dresser in a Thrift store. It was all gold, with a bit of paint transformed.

Birdhouse by Tamar Mogendorff

Simply draw the shape of a tree and paint white

Make some origami birds and hang  from a tree branch

Blackboard paint is great in a childs room

Posh Tots
Flag Bunting you can make it yourself and it adds a bit of color

Bramble night light by White Rabbit England
A nightlight keeps a low glow in the room and helps a baby or child get to sleep. Also great for new breastfeeding mums

You can buy a huge variety of wall decals on line now and it makes a great feature .

Little Hands wallpaper

We are huge fans of Little Hands Wallpaper.

India Hicks, Model,Designer, Author, Mother.

We were delighted when the amazing Interior designer India Hicks got in touch to thank us for our Rabbit nightlight we sent to her daughter Domino for her 4th birthday.
This is her story about the Traveling China Bunny rabbit nightlight going on vacation to The Alps!!

It was Ok for a number of years dealing with the stress of not forgetting Scratchy Bunny (scratchy when glue got spilt on him and even a fierce Bahamian laundry system could not remove the stain) especially as Scratchy Bun is small-ish and squash-able.

But now an attachment to a Bone China Bunny? I repeat, BONE CHINA.

Admittedly far less easy to leave in a departure lounge, or get wrapped up into hotel sheets and forgotten, but possibly next time the White Rabbit sisters could do a less attractive rabbit night light. An evil devil or something? Except we already have a few of those living with us.

If you are ever lucky enough to visit Harbour Island in The Bahamas you could visit her exquistite shop,
Sugar Mill, a lifestyle boutique created from her travels.

You may recognise these images of her beautiful home,
found in her book Island Life.

The Alternative Christmas Tree

My Friend, Suzanne's GRDN Shop here in Brooklyn NY always gives me inspiration especially at Christmas time

Even though our family loves a Christmas tree and a big one I do like the idea of the alternative tree as well.

It's great on a budget or a small space.
Some long twigs or Catkin branches, sprayed white or silver or just left au natural!

Simply pop in a large vase & fill with heavy pebbles.
Decorate with some white sparkly lights and a few handmade kids cut out decorations and Voila!

Simple red berrys are another easy and colourful idea.

Wreaths , Which one??

Paper whites.

Superheroes

My 7 year old son, Charlie had a school trip last week visiting The Super Hero supply store in Brooklyn NY.

On arriving you see a strange shop front.

Inside are the funniest things to buy in the store or at their online shop.
I really wanted to get my friend a tin of Dark Matter for her birthday.

You can also buy , Secret identity kits, and weird cans of silly things.

Once inside it is the Headquarters for 826 NYC , a not-for-profit writing program for children age 6 - 18.
They encourage writing in all forms , comics, poetry, stories. It also offers free after school tutoring on a drop in basis and they also host class trips.( New York only)
I was truly blown away with the whole idea the Staff and unpaid volunteers, Amazing!!!!

Here is the book they had published.

The adventures of Pearl and Dinoman.

All the children came away with a published book that they all participated on from beginning to end.

Check out the 826 NYC website for field trips for your school , workshops or drop- ins

Minor Details

I met by complete coincidence the lovely Jen Ward who has an amazing children's Interior design business and Blog,
Minor Details.

( from Cookie Magazine on-line):(

We had been a fan for a while before she happened to be outside my house looking at some old kids tables and chairs I was throwing out.
( It's usually me getting the stuff people throw out!)

She asked if I could hold it for her as she was on a bike and once we got chatting I realised who she was and immediately invited her in to chat.

 Before and after.

Before and after.

She has been very kind to White Rabbit England, one of the first to write about our lights on her Blog.

If you are struggling with design and space for a new nursery or planning for your children to share she is the one to call.
USA only.
